# Early Life and Struggle of "One Piece" Creator - Eiichiro Oda Explained!!

_Eiichiro Oda is a japanese manga artist, best known for his manga series "ONE PIECE", the best selling popular manga series of all time with 416 million copiesin world wide
circulation.

He was born on jan-1, 1975 in  kumamoto, Japan. When he was 4, he resolved to become a manga artist inorder to having to get a "real job".
He was 17 yrs old when he created his first story wanted!, and won several awards including second place in the Tezuka Award.

That got him into a job at the weekly shonen jump magazine, where he worked as Shinobu Kaitani's assistant.
 And at the age of 19 he began to work as assistant to Nobuhiro Watsuki, before wining the awward .

Then later in 1996, Oda drew two pirates themed one-shot stories called "Romance Dawn" (vol.1 - vol.2).

Monkey D. Luffy was shown as the protagonist of these stories. He (monkey.d luffy) then became the protagonist of one piece.
When he was child he was also influenced by Akira Toriyama, tbe artist who drew Dragon ball.

 He also recalls that his intrests in pirates was probably sparked by the popular Tv animation series titled "Vickey the vikings".


Thanks to this manga (One Piece), Oda was named one of the manga artist that changed the history of manga.
